Catholic Marriage Help - Communication Is The Key To Happy Relationships!

Need Catholic marriage help? Love is bliss and when you finally find someone you're compatible with there are few greater joys in life. However, what happens when a relationship is in crisis? Maybe you've lived with your partner for a while or have enjoyed a long-term courtship. Now you sense that the relationship is crumbling, slowly but surely. What can you do to stop it? How can you save a relationship in crisis?

Communication makes or breaks a relationship. A relationship cannot survive if there is no communication. When two people come together they become one, united in purpose. How can two parts co-exist if they cannot communicate with one another? Communication is one of the most important aspects in building a long-term relationship. It's no coincidence that couplings that fail, or that suffer through separation or infidelity, are often preceded by a long period of uncomfortable silence.

Why do people, especially people that claim to love each other, stop communication? It can be due to any number of reasons. A partner may be hiding something; perhaps he or she is resentful over something the other partner did or said. Two partners may gradually stop communicating if conversations always manage to turn into arguments. Open communication is inherently linked with trust and confidence. When a man has nothing to hide, nor anything lacking, he communicates with his partner. When a woman is perfectly happy in her relationship and trusts her lover, she loves to talk with him.

Therefore, whenever a breakdown of communication occurs it is because there is an element of mistrust and doubt. Instead of trust, now each partner looks at one another with suspicion and observes their actions, reinforcing their own opinions on what's wrong. They put no effort to discuss misunderstandings with the partner; he or she has become an antagonist. In fact, in these situations it's common for a doubting partner to start confiding in a third person. This can be very dangerous if that third person is a member of the opposite sex. This can easily lead to infidelity and the complete breakdown of a relationship.

True love is all about communication. Ask yourself if you indeed want the relationship to work. If so, then you must be open to communicating. This is true no matter what problem is ailing the relationship. If you believe your partner is stubborn and unwilling to reason on matters, then you still have to open yourself up to communication. Get his or her point of view and try and reach a settlement.

Remember that communication depends on constant interaction. When you are separated from your partner, this does the exact opposite of working through problems. This makes matters worse and destroys whatever trust you have established with your partner thus far. Not speaking to a partner for a long period of time will only accelerate the issue of permanent divorce. Whoever suggests a trial separation is one step away from calling it quits. This lesson also applies when it comes to working jobs that are far away from home.

Do not conclude that if a partner is silent he or she is deeply resentful and wants to separate. The fact of the matter is that sometimes people do not feel like talking and this is no cause for alarm. Prolonged silence is a concern but everyday blues does occasionally happen. A partner may be suffering from stress and be feeling particularly irritable or just reserved. Working and children are two common causes for relationship breakdown. If you sense communication is waning in your relationship, try and make time for it and seek Catholic marriage help.
