Guilt
1/27/2010

Guilt can either healthy or unhealthy. It can lead to a change in your behavior or not. You can spend your life behind bars and never feel guilty about what you were convinced of, or you can use the guilt to grow. When all the Cains feel guilt over killing their brother, Abel, then we will be able to begin to heal to wounds of the planet.
There is healthy guilt that leads you to feel sorrow for your behavior and to seek to make amends for your actions. When you do, understanding, forgiveness, and healing come together and you can move on.
Those who feel no guilt are emotionally unhealthy and a danger to society and all living things. But those who feel guilty about everything and can never let it go do not contribute to the betterment of society either.
I carried a spider out of the house today because I found it impossible to kill it just for my convenience. I am proud of myself and the fact that I felt turmoil over killing another living thing. I would prefer to die free of guilt, forgiving myself and even my assassin, rather than die hating.
Solution of the Day:
Do not avoid guilt feelings; they are a sign of your mental health. Listen to them and follow their guidance.
