My Pain Means I am Making a Mistake
6/18/2010

As a child, If we stuck our fingers into the fire, we would pull them back and learn not to do that again. Emotionally, though, we have stuck every appendage into the proverbial fire and we still have not learned the lesson. Emotional pain is the thermometer to let us know that we are somehow making a mistake. It is letting us know that there is an unlearned lesson calling for our attention. If we paid attention to this pain, we would discover our mistake and therefore learn the lesson; we would begin to heal.
Today is a day to learn that wisdom does not come from suffering. Wisdom comes from learning the lesson that heals the suffering. Realize you have made a mistake. You can heal yourself if you move past what you are experiencing. Open yourself to it. Spend ten minutes in meditation about any particular area of pain, and ask your Higher Mind for help in understanding the lesson. Be willing to learn it. Ask to be shown the way.
