When a Dumped Boyfriend Goes Berserk

It's a story as old as the history of men and women. When a dumped boyfriend decides he doesn't want to lose his ex, he sometimes acts like an idiot. Here's the story of Kyle and Michelle. Read it with an eye towards what not to do if you are a dumped boyfriend.

Kyle and Michelle had been invited to the party of the year within their circle, and Kyle wanted very much to go. So did Michelle, but she had work obligations that evening and could not make it. She told Kyle to go ahead and go to the party and to send her regrets.

Kyle went, not happy that Michelle could not be there with him, but he had fun anyway. There was plenty of food and alcohol and Kyle went a little overboard with the latter. A new and very cute girl was flirting shamelessly with him all through the evening, and before it was over, Kyle was making out with this girl.

Needless to say, this got back to Michelle and she was furious. Kyle became another dumped boyfriend casualty and no matter how much he begged and pleaded for her forgiveness, Michelle would have none of it.

Instead of allowing Michelle some time to cool down and think clearly about the situation, Kyle started hounding her. He sent her text messages and emails constantly and left messages on her voicemail. He sent her flowers at work. He begged incessantly and she just got madder and more upset until finally, she told him to leave her alone or she would swear out a restraining order against him.

Instead of backing off and letting Michelle process the whole thing, he started dating her friends. He would send texts to Michelle asking for personal details about so-and-so's personal likes and dislikes and when she broke down an answered that he was being an idiot, he countered that she had told him to move on, and that he was. But he wasn't really moving on. He was trying to make Michelle jealous.

The dumped boyfriend had gone berserk. There was no way Michelle could possibly want to get back together with such a guy. We have to wonder why Kyle thought any of his insane antics would work on Michelle, when what she needed was time to get over his mistake and start missing what was good in their relationship. Kyle blew it, big time, and is a shining example of what not to do if and when one becomes a dumped boyfriend.
